Response to Redundancy

BSEL are working in partnership with Chichester College to address the prospects of finding employment or re-training for people who may find themselves in one of the following situations:

Under notice of redundancy, or out of work for less than 6 months
Unemployed for 6 months or more
Thinking of working for yourself
Graduates seeking employment

Facing the risk, or reality of redundancy?

We know that being made redundant can be a very stressful time in anyone's life. We can help with our flexible approach to getting you back to work, and can make sure your CV is put in front of relevant employers in the area.

If you are aged 18+ and in the South East Region, we can work with you and can offer new training paths to make sure your job application is seriously considered, either if you're applying for jobs in your existing industry, or if you decide to switch direction.

We can show you what you would need to study to maximise your chances of a new job. You may just need to update your qualifications or skills but, whether you work on the shop floor, production line or are in senior management, talk to us; we can offer you the support and advice you need to get back on track with your career.

Response to Redundancy offers the following range of skills tailored to your needs (it is recognised that not all of these will be needed in each case):

  • Training Needs Analysis and Individual Learning Plan;
  • Skills for Life diagnostics (including ICT) and delivery of appropriate training;
  • Assessment of generic employability skills needs and the delivery of training to improve job search, job application and in-work skills;
  • IAG and learner support;
  • Training to update skills needed for a specific employment sector;
  • Pre-employment training to provide skills to enter a different occupation or sector;
  • Regular progress reviews;
  • Exit interviews and customer tracking.

Provision is focused on skills development and will be delivered according to the individual's existing skill levels, local market intelligence on opportunities, and the individual's own career aspirations.
